TITLE:  Official Description Change: Iowa 337, Worth County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 337 begins at Iowa 9 approximately three miles south of the City of Grafton and travels northerly into Grafton.

 

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑337‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑98 between Worth County and the Iowa Department of Transportation approved April 4, 1980, that portion of Iowa 337 from a junction with Iowa 9 near the SW Corner Section 23-T98N-­R19W northerly to the south corporation line of Grafton should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the Worth County secondary road system effective July 1, 1980.

 

Due to transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑337‑0 (1) ‑‑2M-98 between the City of Grafton and the Iowa Department of Transportation dated April 4, 1980, that portion of Iowa 337 from the south corporation line of Grafton northwesterly, northerly, and westerly to the Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Pacific Railway should be deleted from the primary road system and reverted to the city street system of Grafton effective July 1, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the description of Iowa 337 in Worth County, as referred to in the attached detailed description, be deleted from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 337 and its extension in Worth County as follows.

 

Beginning at a point near the SW Corner Section 23‑T98N‑R19W (junction Iowa 9); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Sections 23, 14, and 11-T98N‑R19W to a point approximately 1,700 feet south of the NE Corner Section 10‑T98N‑R19W; thence northwesterly through said Section 10 to the south corporation line of the City of Grafton connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Grafton:

 

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northwesterly, northerly and westerly to the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway.

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 337 in Worth County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 337 in Worth County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
